Embossed Gatefold Card

The Cards For A Cause Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers this month is Rose's Fund For Animals.  They are asking for "Thank You", "Hello or Thinking of You" type cards.  They will be selling the cards to raise funds to help the animals in need.  Also sending cards to thank those who are contributing funds.

I made a gatefold card with embossed panels, punched flowers with pearl centers and a cute puppy image that was colored with Copic markers.  Image and tag were cut out with Spellbinders dies.  Saying on the tag is "You are Pawsitively Wonderful".  Thought they could use this to send as a thank you for anyone who is helping this wonderful cause.

Embossed horse card for a little boy

I need more cards for the little boys at the children's charity, but I always seem to struggle when making them.  So I tried something a bit different for this card.  I found a brass stencil in my stash that I have had for many years and used a light box to hand emboss the image with a stylus.  Then I turned the image over with the stencil still attached and inked the image with a sponge applicator.  Cut out the image with a Spellbinders die, then distressed the edges with the same ink as the image.  Added my usual banner saying with the tiny bow tied with jute twine.  I haven't done hand embossing with a light box for many years and it was a lot of fun to revisit that technique.

I have a box filled with die cut shapes, images, paper scraps and embellishments that were left over from other projects.  It's time to use them up instead of adding more scraps to the box, so I plan to make a bunch cards with them this month for the Cards For Hospitalized Kids Charity.

Birthday Card #2 for the VA Hospital

The Cards For A Cause Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers this month is to create cards for the VA Hospital to give to their patients.  They are requesting birthday, thank you, congratulations and general theme cards.  I am in my comfort zone when I  make cards for kids and cutesy stuff, but I always struggle when making cards for men.  So I kept this simple and made a CAS card using a precolored digi image called Slugger Sam from Dr Digi's House Of Stamps.   I used the Silhouette Studio software to arrange the image, add the saying and cut out the image with my Silhouette Cameo.

You Whoo

I always buy print and cut files at the Silhouette store during the sales, but it takes a long time before I get around to making something with them.  I have had this print and cut owl for more than a year and decided it was time to make a card with it.  Found some owl patterned paper in my stash and machine stitched around the edge to adhere it to the card base.  Cut out the owl, the talk bubble and eyelet circle with my Cameo and assembled them onto the stitched card base.  I think the kids at the Cards For Hospitalized Kids Charity will like this one.
