Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow

This is one of my all time favorite snowman stamps in my collection.  It's made by Penny Black.
I have used it many times to make holiday cards over the years and normally color it in shades of blue or green or purple.
I wanted something a bit different, so this time I used shades of pink with a kraft cardstock base.

Supplies used: Copic markers, Spellbinders dies, MS drippy goo punch, Simple Stories cardstock, pearls, white ribbon, twine, tag and pop dots.

You're Out Of This World

A friend let me play with some of her stamps.  This stamp set has a moon, spaceship, alien and sayings.  I stamped the scene with Memento ink and colored the images with Copic markers.  Also used Bazzill cardstock and pop dots to attach the image to the card base.  The Sketch layout is from Splitcoast Stampers, which I had to change a bit so the dots would fit at the bottom of the card.  I always struggle when making cards for boys, but I think the little boys at the Cards For Hospitalized Kids Charity will enjoy these fun aliens.

Converting dingbats to cut files

I spent an hour this afternoon experimenting with my Silhouette Cameo.  I follow Jin Yong and my card was inspired by the tutorial she posted on her blog  (Under A Cherry Tree) today.  It's a wonderful tutorial that shows you step by step how to convert a dingbat to a cut file.  I followed all the steps to create the cut file, then I made another offset, mirrored left, overlapped, aligned and cut out my black card base.  I also cut a extra black piece to put on the card base so the part where the shapes overlapped on the left wouldn't look cut off.  I will be sending this to the Cards for Hospitalized Kids charity.  I hope it will make the little kids smile.

You make me smile

This is for the little boys at the Cards 4 Hospitalized Children's Charity.
I made a easel shaped card base using a scalloped square from the Silhouette store.  I opened the file then made a copy of the scalloped square and set it off to the right.  That piece is the top layer of the easel card.  To make the card base, I selected the original scalloped square, did mirror above, overlapped the edges slightly then aligned on the right side and merged the 2 together.  Cut out the card base and the extra piece that was set off to the right.  Fold the top piece on card base in half to form the upside down v of the easel shape.  See top photo.  Then glue the full size scalloped rectangle on the folded half.  Make sure to apply glue only on the front half.  Also used a fun print and cut turtle from the Silhouette store and added the saying.  Created a offset and cut out the white and turquoise blue pieces.  Also cut out two wave borders and some sea shells.

Rocker style baseball card for a little boy

Still have lots of painting to do, but had a bit of a break today while waiting for a repair man to fix our security system.  I spent the time playing with my Silhouette studio DE software.  I created this rocker style baseball card for the Children's Charity using simple circles.  The card base is a 5 1/2" circle filled with a baseball pattern.  Then I made a 2 3/4" circle and imported the baseball birdie onto the center of the circle.  The third piece is a 3" circle, filled with red, then added the baseball birdie onto that, centered and grouped them together.  Turned on cut lines, then I added registration marks, printed the pieces and cut out with my Silhouette.  Added some twine and pop dots to the back of the smaller circle, then attached to card base.  Baseball image and pattern paper are from a set called Baseball Birdies by Doodle Pantry.

Head start on my holiday cards

Went shopping at the Silhouette store.  They have 40% off on all cutting files just for today.  Found this flip swing style card that had flowers on the circles.  I substituted snowflakes on the circles and added some fun red and white dot papers to the card base.  Cut all pieces with my Silhouette.  Dot paper is from Hobby Lobby.  Used red Bazzill cardstock for the circles and white GP cardstock for the base and snowflakes.  It was easy to make and best of all it is flat in the envelope so I don't have to put extra postage on it.
